Toukiden 2 Unites Multiplayer Demon Slayers

Released on March 21, 2017 in United States and on March 24, 2017 in Europe, Toukiden 2 brings back familiar gameplay components from the previous installment. In a nutshell, the customized protagonist must protect the Mahoroba Village from a powerful Oni who controls an army of demons. Now, these various demons are not immortal, but players must damage body limbs before the enemy regenerates. Therefore, time also becomes an enemy.

Fortunately, you can hack off the gigantic demon parts with online allies in the multiplayer mode.  They can join your open world to hunt down and kill these demons. This video provides a short snippet of the multiplayer battle against them.

It may not show alot of action, but it does show off the vicious enemies. Apart from hacking-and-slashing through fiends, interested players can gradually expand the village or explore newer Japanese-oriented locations or mystical environments. These unknown areas may lead to new foes, which may unleash captive spirits known as Mitama. Mitamas are fallen heroes who provide special attacks or effects for the protagonist. It feels more like collecting ghosts, but you get benefits.  If not helping out, Toukiden 2 also has unique characters who sometimes throw witty dialogues.

Please note that Toukiden 2 is available on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita and personal computer. For more information, please visit the official website or European Facebook page for Koei Tecmo.
