Rogue One Digital, DVD & Blu-Ray Release Date Announced

Starwars.com has officially announced that Rouge One: A Star Wars Story, will be released for Digital HD, DVD and Blu-Ray on March 24th.  Along with the release date, they were also kind enough to share the box art for the Blu-Ray and Standard formats, both of which manage to capture the spirit of the film effortlessly.

If you aren’t satisfied with just watching the movie, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will also include a plethora of behind-the-scenes footage and documentaries to keep even the most hardcore Star Wars fan (see Me) entertained for an ungodly amount of hours.

As is usual with releases as big as this, an assortment of retailers will be offering exclusive versions of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, they are: Target, Best Buy and Walmart.  Although retailer exclusives are generally purchased for cosmetic reasons, steelbook casing being the biggest seller, there are some exclusives that offer a bit more substance than others.  For example, the Target exclusive claims that it will include “two additional bonus features”; as of now I have no idea what those could be, but it is highly likely that the two new features are more behind-the-scenes footage.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was released on December 10, 2016.  Since its release, it has earned over 1 billion dollars globally, making it the top grossing movie of 2016.  Although ticket sales have been steadily declining, it is still a popular movie amongst movie-goers, consistently bringing in more than $100,000 a day in gross ticket sales.

Even though I have already seen Rogue One: A Star Wars Story more than once, I feel no shame in admitting that I will be purchasing it the second it becomes available.
